Live Baton Rouge Weather

Baton Rouge weather conditions are generally hot and humid. Earlier in the summer, we had been experiencing a drought. Then things got into a typical July summer heat and rain pattern. One thing of note is that Baton Rouge has had two men killed by lightning strikes in the month of July. The second man that was killed off Woodgate Blvd. near Highland Road was actually working on a roof almost directly behind my father-in-laws house. He heard the thunder when the lightning struck that man. I am sure that people in this area are taking lightning and the danger of it much more seriously with these two deaths.

Certainly, a good working air conditioner in my house and in my vehicle is essential for surviving the hot summers days of Louisiana. If you're in the air conditioning business, Louisiana is a good place to be.

Winter is usually very mild in this area. My annual dreams of a white Christmas for my kids are usually short lived. Yes, snow is a very rare sight in this part of the United States. No need to worry about snow tires to get to work or shoveling the snow off the driveway.

Spring and fall can offer some nice pleasant, mild temperatures for us for a brief while. It seems like these milder temperatures are always slow in coming.
